Hiking and cycling in nature area ‘Het Zwin’. Nature reserve ‘Het Zwin’ is a protected nature reserve on the coast on the border with Belgium and the Netherlands. It runs along the sea from Cadzand Bad up to Knokke Heist (Flanders) in Belgium. Inland the region runs approximately up to the place ‘Retranchement’. The total acreage is approximately 160 acres. Nature park ‘Het Zwin’ is especially famous among tourists for its possibility to make nice walks (with dogs) and to do cycling. The constructed walking and bicycle paths are a delight to follow.
A lot of walkers leave Cadzand alone. That is a big mistake. If you are looking for peace and quietness, space and beautiful landscapes you can make beautiful walking-tours. And there is a lovely fresh sea-air.
The coast of Cadzand has wide beaches and offers magnificent views over the sea. From the view of the coast is beautiful. The beach lies shining in the sun and goes in a friendly curve with the sea and the sea can sometimes lighten unlikely bleu. And along the flood mark there are always people walking, weather or no weather. Cadzand is with all its catering industry at the sunny residence the stopping place for walkers.
